Vanilla Matcha Latte

Ingredients:

  1. Matcha Powder: 1-2 teaspoons (depending on how strong you prefer)
  2. Hot Water: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  3. Preferred Milk: 1 cup (240 ml) (e.g., almond, soy, or oat, milk)
  4. Vanilla Extract: 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Ice Cubes
  6. Optional Sweetener: to taste (e.g., honey, sugar, agave syrup)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Matcha Shot: Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove any lumps. Add the hot water (not boiling, ideally around 80°C/175°F). Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and a light froth forms on top.
  2. Vanilla Infusion: In a separate container, mix the vanilla extract with your preferred milk. If you like your latte sweet, add your chosen sweetener to the milk and mix well.
  3. Assemble Your Latte: Fill a glass with ice cubes to the top. Pour the vanilla-infused milk over the ice, leaving some space at the top for the matcha shot.
  4. Add the Matcha Shot: Gently pour the prepared matcha shot over the milk. You’ll notice the beautiful layers of green matcha and milk forming.
  5. Final Touch: Give your latte a gentle stir to mix the layers or leave it layered for a visually appealing drink. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  6. Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your refreshing and aromatic Matcha Latte with a hint of vanilla!
